The making off.... Gyratom Pop-Art
For Alessandro Tardiolo, I am portraying "the making off" one of his Pop-Art works (www.tardioli.com). This work was the eye-catcher on the roof of the Belgian Pavillion at the World Exhibition in Dubai, 1th of October/2021 - 31th of March/2022. The motto of this event was "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" working around three themes: Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity. Alessandro's team has build the iconic helicopter named "The Gyratom", which is an enhanced version of the "Gyronef" known from the comic book series "Suske (Willy) & Wiske (Wanda)", written by Willy Vandersteen. This artefact piece of Art is covered with old Atomium panels from EXPO 1958. So one world exhibit, 1958, will be recycled for use in the 2021 world exhibit. This is Urban Reincarnation / Augmented recycling: time travel in itself. This Art Work includes state of the art IoT solutions. We travel through time with one of Belgium's most known cult vehicle.
